He graduated from Ege University Faculty of Communication Department of Public Relations and Publicity in 1995. In 1998, he started working as a Research Assistant at Atatürk University, Faculty of Communication Department of Public Relations and Publicity. In 2000, he completed his master’s degree at Ege University Institute of Social Sciences Department of Public Relations and Publicity; in 2007, he completed his doctorate education at Ankara University Institute of Social Sciences Department of Public Relations and Publicity. During his doctoral education, he worked as a Research Assistant at Ankara University Faculty of Communication Department of Public Relations and Publicity, between 2000 and 2007, in accordance with article 35 of the YÖK Law no. 2547. He was appointed as Assistant Professor in 2011, Associate Professor in 2012 and Professor in 2018 at Atatürk University Faculty of Communication Department of Public Relations and Publicity.


He served as Vice Dean at the same Faculty for two terms, between 2013-14 and 2019-2020. In addition to being a member of the Senate, Faculty Board and Board of Directors, he has been the Head of the Department of Interpersonal Communication since 2018 and the Head of the Department of Public Relations and Publicity after 2020. He was appointed as the Dean of Atatürk University Faculty of Communication in September 2024. He has many publications on public relations, political communication, history of communication, communication research and advertising. He speaks advanced English, is married and has two children.
